With EVs, you don’t need to visit a station every time. You can charge at home, at work, or on the road. It’s cleaner, quieter, and often more cost-efficient.

Level 1 (L1) charging, often called “trickle charging”

The most basic and accessible method for replenishing an EV’s power, using a portable charging cord plugged directly into a standard 120-volt AC household outlet. Due to its low power output, L1 charging demands significantly extended hours for a full charge. This method is best used as a convenient, low-cost solution for overnight charging in residential settings where the vehicle will be parked for a prolonged period and the speed of charging is not a critical factor.

Charging Capacity is dictated by the weakest link between the electricity supply,
charging power and onboard charger

Level 2 (L2) charging

The industry standard due to its optimal balance of speed and widespread accessibility. L2 stations are the most common public chargers, widely available at destinations where drivers dwell for several hours, such as workplaces, retail centers, and parking garages. This level is highly versatile and efficient, delivering a substantial charge (often 4 to 6 hours for 80% capacity) that perfectly aligns with the time spent running errands or completing a work shift.

Electricity is everywhere.

For longer drives, there’s DC Fast Charging, a technology many non-EV drivers don’t even know exists. With DC Fast Charging, you can typically charge in 15–45 minutes. Just plug in, tap on the app, and go about your errands while your vehicle and the charger do the work.

Level 3 (L3) DC Fast Charging

The premium tier for EV power replenishment, specifically designed for drivers who require the fastest turnaround time. These stations are highly accessible along major highway corridors and are increasingly deployed in urban centers to support high-traffic areas and short stops. Operating on high-voltage DC power, it completely bypasses the vehicle’s onboard charger to directly power the battery, allowing an EV to gain significant range, typically charging up to 80% in 30 minutes or less. Its best usage is centered on long-distance road trips, commercial fleet depots, or any scenario where drivers need a rapid, efficient top-up without delay.
